Name: Superman
Date completed: February 17 2015
Base figure: Marvel Legends Sentry
Paints used: Acryla Gouache
Description: Superman! This is a figure I wanted to make for awhile. A more articulated Superman. My problem with the Superman figures from Mattel are the limited articulation. The main problem is the lack of the neck joint. When Superman is flying, he should be able to look forward. I took the new Sentry body and combined it with a cast of the Kingdom Come Superman. Logo was painted by using a vinyl mask and looks amazing. The cape was made by heat forming styrene. My first attempt at heat forming plastic and it came out pretty nicely.
Overall Impressions: This figure came out really well. A few areas of paint rub because I didn’t prep the base properly but overall it came out great. The logo looks amazing and looking back I forget that I painted that. The skin tone is improving over previous work but still marks room for improvement.
